I like most of the things in this class. The class system is pretty organized, because it is mostly using internet. Even though problems on using computer and internet can occur a lot, it is still a better way than using paper. Paper work can get lost or easily ruined, but using the internet can save the files and not easy to destroy. Formatting became important for work on computer, which students might get confused with. Technical issues are often on internet work, sometimes the internet or the computer shuts down itself and you weren’t able to save your files. I like having homework due on the same date and having a weekly Greek or Latin roots quiz. This class is really organized and I enjoy it. Only sometimes the teacher make jokes on students. If the student beside wasn’t really happy about getting teased, she/he might look like she/he’s going to kill you. And I definitely DON’T want to sit beside someone like that. Especially when I’m the only Taiwanese sitting in the middle of to got-teased-Canadian. Canadians aren’t bad, but sometime girls don’t like jokes. I can take jokes, but that’s because I’m not sensitive enough. But other girls have lower EQ these ages, so they wouldn’t want anyone to make jokes on them.

Frietchie VS Jackson
Frietchie and Jackson are two different kind of people, but they shared the same value of being brave. They are supporting different sides during the Civil War, Frietchie on the Union side, and Jackson on the Confederates side. They may support different idea, but they are both brave people that is loyal to their own side. Frietchie want the country to stay together like it was, but Jackson wanted the his country to allow slavery, and also exclude high taxes on the souther sides. They wanted the country to be equal, Friechie wanted men to treat men equally, and Jackson also wanted the government to treat the Confederates rightly. The are thinking about the same idea but about different things. Friechie was old, and gray headed, but she can still stand up for her believes and be brave. Even in the poem, Jasckson was on the wrong side, he still commanded not to shoot the flag and Friechie. Jackson don’t want to hurt any old woman, and he admired the bravery of Frietchie when she shouted at the Confederates soldiers. Friechie was old, but her mind was clear, clearer than the Confederates. She knows what is right, what’s wrong. Jackson knew the separation of the country isn’t as great, but he knew that’s their, the southerners’ only way to survive.

Do the Right Thing
You should never talk to strangers. Strangers may seem friendly or scary, but some of them may be thinking about kidnapping you or taking valuable thing from you. People that seemed friendly may hurt you, instead of those mean looking strangers, most of them don’t care about you. Strangers that tried to come near to you can be the evil people that would trick you. All people, especially female and kids, The are the easiest target for bad guys. Female and kids are easy to trick and they can hardly do any fightback. Kids are the major target for kidnaps, they are easy to carry away and the parents would do anything to make sure they are safe. Other crimes are easier to be done on children and people that can hardly do anything about it. You should be extra careful when you walk on streets, you shouldn’t walk into tiny streets where less people are, and you should not ride in a taxi alone if you are underage. People get kidnaped, killed, harassed, stole from and tricked in all kinds of ways everyday. Not just people, sometimes dogs are kidnapped and their owners will have to buy them back, but that doesn’t happen as often as the others mentioned.

Standing Up for Your Beliefs
Abraham Lincoln was one of the greatest people in the world that stood up for his believes. He was the president of the United States and was against slavery during the Civil War time. He stood up for his belief “All man are born equal.” He was strongly against slavery even though he knew the country couldn’t hold together if he star the war. He thinks it’s wrong for people to force on other people and hurt them purposely. It’s his belief that hurting other human being for no reason is injustice and is not right. I believe in “otaku.” Otaku are people that stays home most of the time and didn’t really like the outside world. They live in their own world, but actually they’ve constructed a beautiful world called “internet.” Some websites may be created by people that was paid to do it, but otaku makes the internet more beautiful, fun and interesting. When they make these websites in this world it attracts more people to turn into otaku. That’s how this belief spread so fast and so into human’s brain. Not just the internet, video games, anime and applications for different computers can hold kids, teenagers or sometimes even adults in their home. It may not be healthy, but online game can really make people go crazy. It’s hard for people to not go on Facebook now, it may be harder then quit drinking!!

Cinderella Story
The Cinderella is an familiar and famous story to the whole world. It’s a really touching story mostly because some people can relate to the stories. The Cinderella story is a story about a young girl force to live with an evil step-mother, and two step-sister that treats her like a servant. She was the only child before her dad get remarried. She was living happily with her dad when all of a sudden, three unfamiliar women appeared and could ruin her life. She struggled and wanted the life she used to have, however she was able to move on and looked for other dreams. She wanted to go to a ball where she could meet the handsome prince. She wanted to go to the ball but she wasn’t allowed, the moment she was about to give up, the fairy godmother came to help her. She was able to go to the ball before 12:00 AM. She ran back and left her one of her pair of shoe at the castle. The prince found the owner of the shoe, Cinderella, and married her. Now, Cinderella became the princess. She went from the lowest in her family and gradually became one of the most powerful people in their country. I was just like her the time I went to a new art class, all the students there can draw beautifully for 10 years old kids. I was in the 14th or 15th place when i first went there. I wasn’t noticed by other students and they never wanted to talk to me. One day, after all the classes before, I was in the first place. It was all magical, and stuff, I never knew I could beat the other students. After that i never got lower than the fifth place.

Hero Biography
My mother is a hero to me. All I had learnt about life are mostly taught by her. She is the one that had influenced my life the most. My mother influenced my life in a good way, she taught me things I might never think about learning, like being more girly. Even though I didn’t enjoy doing that, I tried my best in listening to her and had succeeded in being a normal teenage girl(not). She loves me the way she always did even when i became so weird and tomboy-like, she still loves me.
My mother, Anny Peng was born on June 1, 1963 in Taipei. She’s not Taiwanese, she is Chinese, because both of her parents, my grandparents are both Chinese. Even though my mother is Chinese, she never went to main land China before. She is born and raised in Taiwan and haven’t left this country before the age of 28. She has 5 other siblings and 4 of them are girls. My uncle is the only son in the family. She took care of all her siblings while educating with small amount of resource. She graduated from National Taiwan University, the best college in Taiwan. She was my hero, because she had inferred so many great ideas and thinkings to me that had changed me. If she had never supported me the way she did, I might not be able to be here right now like this.

What is a Hero
What is a hero? The types of heroes share common characteristics which suggest much about how we see ourselves, determine our goals, and view our passage through life. A hero must stay to the heroic role, including suffering danger or even making a painful choice. Heroes may not always be athletes or strong people, but people that can help society. Hero can also be people that gives good ideas to society and help development of society. A hero may not have to be someone that saves the world or anything, they just have to be helpful to the society. A hero can help the growth of a society in different ways, they can protect a society or infer source and information to help. Heroism is shown when a man/woman thinks for other people and showed it in action to help. When people devoted themselves to other things, that is heroism. Superman and Batman are both heroes, but why? They've both devoted themselves to their society and had risked their lives. All kinds of heroes, doesn't matter if they are fictional or real, they all devoted themselves to other people. In the movie "Constantine," when John said to Lucifer, he wanted Isabel to go to heaven and would let him take his life away, he showed his heroism to Isabel. Also because he did that, God knew that he sacrificed, to help other person, god forgave him and allowed him to go to heaven as well.

Leaving Everything Behind
Something suddenly happens, and someone was required to leave all of their old life behind and star of something mew. It takes such a long time for a human being to have grown bond to something that had been there so long with them. The thing that had been there maybe good or bad memories, can be advantages or disadvantages. But whatever it is, it’s still parts of the men. It can be so painful, so hard for someone to just leave something behind, especially when it might be something great, like good memories with friends. When someone is forced to leave people they’ve loved, it can be hurting, and inhumanly. Some parents were forced by the government to leave their children, because the they think those parents didn’t have ability to raise them properly. The government may think about the safety for those kids or they were trying to help them, but they never actually thought about what kind difference will it make to the kids, people changes over time according to events happening around them. It can be difficult for people to just leave something behind. When i was told that my favorite comic’s author, Katsura Hoshino was sick and would be missing from her column for a while, I just collapsed mentally for days, or even weeks. I couldn’t believe how I live through that period, i was nervous when ever he had a surgery. I was a fan that had grew bond to the drawings and stories so much I collapsed. I loved the comic he drew so much I couldn’t believe it if he died, he couldn’t! I mean, there is so many other people all over the world that loved this comic we could die for it. I thought before, if this comic don’t go on, i might as well not, too. I’ve grew bond to it, it’s one of the main things I lived for. If someone told me that I need to live my life without these comic book, I might as well not live my life. It’s not me without them.

The Promised Land
Harriet promised the enslaved African Americans to lead them to the promise, Canada. A land where there is no segregation to the coloured people and where people live equally. Just like Moses, he promised his people to lead them to the promised land in their stories. They had work hard to find the land and live there with peace. They both promised their people to lead them to a better place for them to live in. They are both leaders leading a segregated, or treated with injustice group of people. They’ve all fought fought injustice when they could have better life. They weren’t treated with injustice, they were living the life lots of people their kind admired. They left their fortunate life and helped more than anyone could help them. They hated injustice maybe even more than the people treated with injustice. They were also brave and willing to risk their life for other people. The wanted live in a world that has no segregation. They never tried to revenge, they only wanted to live a life, a life they could enjoy.

Why Risk Your Life
Harriet Tubman wasn't a slave during the time, she was a freeman that is willing to risk her life to lead people toward freedom. She was brave and full of justice to do such things. Harriet is now one of the most famous African American woman in the United States or even to the whole wide world. Her thinking was greater than any other people that I've met, her thinking was full of courage and risky. She knew that she would be waiting for death if she was found by the police her actions, but she did it anyways to help those enslaved people. She knows the pain being enslaved, so she didn't want it to happen to other people. She disliked injustice maybe even more than the people enslaved. She risked her life helping these people and didn't want any payback.
I have never seen anyone that would risk their life for injustice. People now usually cares only about themselves and less about being injustice to other people. Like my brother, he only cares about himself and never cares about what other people feel or think about him.

For the Sake of Freedom
Over thousands of years, people all over the world had been fighting for freedom. Whether the Israelites, Jewish, Africans or Asian people had been fighting all over the world for freedom. It's not just the people suffering because of slavery and such, also the other people are fighting, helping the people to gang rights. All men are born equal was their thinking, so no one can have more power over someone else, no one can force someone to do things against their rights. African American had been the most famous example, they have been slavery over hundreds of years. They had fought in the while the white Americans consider them worse than animals. They fought and won the war with help of president Lincoln. The Israelites had fought for their freedom when they were captured in Egypt. They've also won, because they wanted freedom more than anything in the world.

What Happens
No one escaped from the Landlady before, therefore Billy can't be the smartest one to escape. He could't be the ONLY one that had escaped from her. Besides, if he escaped, he'll be dead soon, because the tea was poisoned with the "bitter almond taste." If Billy escaped and then die on the streets, the Landlady could just go out and collect his body. The other two gentlemen will be upstairs in the preserved collections waiting for more gentlemen to join their group. Billy may not even realize what he had gotten into, he might still be drinking tea and touching those stuffed little pets. Billy was really too naive to drink tea that's prepared by a woman that stuffs her little pets after they've passed away.
