Journal Entry 54 Title: Prose or Poetry

Between prose and poetry, I like prose better, but maybe that is just because I've read more prose than poetry in my life. I don't dislike any of them, but for me poetry is definitely harder to write. Poetry is a stranger to me, I never wrote one before, but I guess I'll have to do one for my English class this year.

I like reading poetry, it is very fun and it sounds really cool reading it out-loud sometimes. Poetry is harder to understand than prose, the word they could use for certain spot have limits. Prose is simpler than poetry, because it can use all kind of words to describe something clearly. I can do prose, it's easy for people that can write or type :D. But you need talent or special attention on poetry.

Poetry often has deeper meaning in it than prose. It is everywhere around us, song lyrics are also a type of poetry, which is very common in teenagers everyday life. If you try to read those lyrics of a love song, they can sound like a meaningful poem.

I like fact prose, sometime even documentary kinds. I don’t know why, but they teach me some random knowledge sometimes. It’s just fun to know about some random stuff.

Journal Entry 53 Title: Outsiders Film v Book

I felt that the movie was really different from the book. The emotions of people in the movie change too fast in the movie. It didn't give me the sentimental and emotional feelings i get when I was reading the book the Outsiders. The book was better and made more sense. The characters doesn't look the way I imaged they looked like, before I saw the movie. In the movie, they cut out the part where Ponyboy got jumped, which made the the other little parts of the movie seems a little confusing. I liked the book better, because it allows me to imagine more of my stuff that makes the story sounds WAY cooler, and better. The film looks like they were in a rush, doesn't make any sense, if the book is really that long, they should make 2 volumes :D. But they decided not to, and decided to cut out the good parts. The actors are all famous, good looking and stuff, but they weren't really into the characters, because i can't feel the feeling that the author is trying to give the readers from the movie. The most important thing is that, Steve (tom Cruise) shouldn't be better looking than Sodapop (random guy that I never saw before). Sodapop should be the most handsome guy in the whole movie.

Journal entry 52 Title: Film v Print

Film is a new technology to human being, but print is a technique people that are invented thousands of years before. Film is still improving these days and it has a endless area to expend. Print has a limit, there are only 1 dimension in print, unlike film. Print is the original way of story telling, it is passed down for centuries. Filmmaking was only developed few decades ago. Film is more relaxing for most of the people, while reading can be tiring to some people. People tend to do the easier things if they could choose, which is why film is more popular than print. Film may be easier and more relaxing, but it kills your imagination. Reading print is the only way you can exercise your beautiful imagination. Imagination is the most powerful weapon a person can have. So you should never let anyone destroy your imagination. That’s why people that only watch movies have no imagination. But the people that enjoy reading have more imagination they can have in their minds. Once you are into the films, you might never be able to start liking to read again. Once you get lazy, it’s hard to get yourself together again. So, be careful, don’t watch too many TV. 

Journal Entry 51 Title: Making a Choice

Just saying, students can check other's blog to see what each person wrote(if they are interested in this enough). I would choose Jasper, Jonah and Isabel to die for the other students and me. Why? BECAUSE they are the most spoiled and annoying people in 8th grade in my point of view. Seriously, even if we could all survive without killing them, I would still say we should kill them. Maybe that is because I'm related to Benson for wanting to kill people all the time. Oh god, I wish Benson is with us in that oxygen-less room. I would like to see him die. I can't believe what a bastard he is. And Isabel, she is the female version of Benson. That's why I really can't stand her. GOSH! An other Benson in my life, that helps. :D (YEAH RIGHT.) Jasper is really annoying. He always call me Hambo(in Chinese, this means STUPID), but he is really the stupid one. I hate him for calling me stupid, for calling Eddy Dumb and for calling Amber fat. Amber IS NOT FAT, it was just a joke, but he is taking it way over the line now. He and Isabel really need to stop insulting people so much. I'm not saying that I'm so much better, but at least I'm trying to improve myself and stop these stupid jokes. Finally, Janah just randomly pull away other people's chair when he or she is trying to sit down and rest, THAT IS VERY IMMATURE. Isabel is just Benson ON PILLS. But Jonah, Jasper and Isabel added together is Benson without pills.

Journal Entry 50 Title: My Stuff

1. My book of secret stuff (my drawing book (I probably need 10 of them since I'm staying there so long.)) My "The Book of Secret Stuff" is just a book i always have around me. It is like my diary, notebook and also my drawing book. I can spend a lot of time on it, and if I have no idea what to draw or write, I would just stare at the wall.
2. My friend's hat from his jacket (you can remove the hat from the jacket, so cool.) I LOVE THAT HAT. I can't leave it at all, its with me now 24hrs(except when I'm taking a shower). The hat is SO soft(the fur on the inner side of the hat), and it's so comfortable. I can fall asleep anywhere with that hat because of it comfortable-ness. And also, because it's my best friend's and I can remember him with that hat if I'm leaving my friends for such a long time.
3. My computer (I can do a lot with it.) I can do a lot with my computer even if there is no internet.
4. My pencil case (It's always with me.) I need my pencil case, because my USB and of course, my pencils are in it. I NEED THEM TO DRAW!!! And also I love my pencil case, I can use it like my purse.
5. My jacket (doesn't have a hat that can be removed, in fact, it doesn't even have a hat.) I might get cold.

Journal Entry 47 Title: Trapped!

If I’m trapped with my family for 2 years in a little room, it might get a little boring, but at least there’s no homework. First, I would first try to draw everything I see in that room, people or things, I’m going to draw them all. Until I got bored of drawing, I might go into my little world in my head. Going to my little world can spend a lot of time. I do this a lot, because it’s quite fun, living in an imaginary world. Then, I can go back to do more drawing. If I got bored of both of these activities, I would consider doing some Worldy Wise, because I get sleepy and tired looking at it. I would sleep more and get rid of my dark circles. I can also practice calming myself down and not being hyper all the time. My life would be less hectic, but also less amusing. Still, I’m trapped, can’t do anything about it. The worst thing is that, I’d be trapped with Benson (D:). Yeah, that’s right, SADFACE. I have to put up with that maniac EVERY SINGLE DAY, and now in a small room?!(Not a question, just complaining) I don’t think I would survive during those 2 years.

Journal Entry 46 Title: Why?

Hitler mat think it is necessary to kill all the Jewish, because he blamed the depression in German at that time, on the Jewish people. He thinks they controlled all their money and saved it for themselves. So Hitler and the Nazis decided to hate them for what they did, which was banking. It’s not true that the Jewish kept all the money to them, it’s just that banking is the only way for them to earn money. And by that way, you can earn a lot. The people thought banking is a dirty job, so they leaved it to the Jewish, but now they are blaming them for doing it well. The Jewish didn’t go against the rules government gave, because they came little by little. Then after a while, it’s too late to rebel against those rules. This seemed wrong, it is not necessary to me, for anyone to die for THAT kind of reason, which didn’t make much sense to me. I have no negatives feelings on Jewish people. In fact, I have a lot of Jewish friends that I met in the states. The people I met are all very cool, and they are pretty nice to me.

Journal Entry 43 Title: My Winter Holiday

During my winter holiday, I went to A LOT of places. It was also a very hectic break for me. After the last day of school, I went out with my friends, we went to watch the movie “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.” It was a good movie even though I think they should just make a 4hour movie, instead of separating them into two parts. But it was still a great day for me. I went back home that day and started packing up for my skiing trip to Japan for 5 days. The next day I went to the airport with Derek, Eddy and Benson to meet up with Melissa and Jason. I still remembered it was really cold that day, because I was wearing cloth I’m suppose to wear in the snow, IN the airport. When we got of in Japan, the first thing me and Benson did was trying to make a snow ball from the tiny bits of snow on the side walk, since we haven’t see snow before this trip. Skiing is new to me, too. I never tried anything like it before, but I did the best I can, and fall over pretty often. I also fall into soft and thick piles of snow a lot, but it felt good. I tasted different kind of curry in Japan, my favorite was the REAL JAPANESE CURRY, and my least favorite was the FAKE INDIAN CURRY both made by Japanese. I didn’t do much there except for skiing, eating and walking around either in the resort’s hotel, or in the snow. BUT, I DID make a SNOW MAN, and I saw a statue of a kappa (which was AWESOMEEEE). Then I went back to Taiwan. After that, I did Wordly Wise and went out with friends. I didn’t do anything else. I went out with my best friend to watch the movie “TRON,”I didn’t really got what the movie was talking about, because my friend was BUGGING me all along while the movie played. BUT IT WAS STILL AWESOME TO HANG OUT WITH FRIEND. After that I got a SKYPE account and stayed home most of the time after that.

Journal Entry 45 Title: Luck?

It may be luck that he landed well enough for him to survive, but it takes skills to live long enough to get out of that forest. His knowledge he learnt before to survive in the woods is his only chance to live the rest of his life. He is not lucky, but he IS one of the LUCKIEST out of those unlucky ones. If he were actually LUCKY, then he would not be in all these mess... in the woods. He made it through the first level by luck, but the rest of the game would be on his own, no more luck like “not dying from a jet crash” will happen again. Maybe he might get lucky at the end, maybe he will find help from people he met on his adventure, but these other lucks are no match to the “not dying from a jet crash luck.” I never got so lucky like Brian before, it’s impossible for me to be THAT lucky. It seemed to me that his living was a miracle. But sure I’m kind of lucky, I’m lucky just to be in this school and have food for me to live happily. But I’m never luck ENOUGH to get out of troubles, I just have to deal with them.
