The author created an unreliable narrator to make the readers understand the first-person-narrator's point of view. By only understanding a person's point of view, it can cause the story more interesting or more mysterious. An author uses this kind of narrator to grab readers' attention. Because you only know a person-that-doesn't-care-about-other-people-point-of-view's point of view, you became very curious and concerned about other's thoughts. People are interested because of this kind of style in story writing, it causes more tensions and suspense. There are people that can tell that the narrator is not reliable, but there are still people that may think the crazy narrator is normal and misunderstood by other people in the story. The story develops different comments and objectives by readers every time another truth is revealed. It's like an onion, peals off layers by layers. Even if the narrator didn't say anything about other people's point of view, the readers will soon construct their own idea about the story and became a third-person narrative to the story. You will find out the truth after you finish the story, or maybe you would understand the whole thought in the middle, before the story ends. In the story Tell Tale Hearts, I was with the narrator all along after I understand his reason for killing the man.
