How are poems different from other forms of writing? Poetry is harder to understand than prose, the word they could use for certain spot have limits. Prose is simpler than poetry, because it can use all kind of words to describe something clearly .Do poems have any similarities to other kinds of writing? Yes, it is like lyrics from a song, or a short story with some rhyming words. How can a poem do things that other forms of expression can’t? Poem can express a person’s feeling with beautiful word and it can make the whole meaning sounds better. Are there some things that a poem can’t do that can be done in other forms of writing? Yes, the use of words are limited here, poetry have less choices of word here than prose or other writing. I see a lot of poetic language now in our generation all around us. Lyric is a kind of poetic language that is used with music to make a song. Songs are all around us, everyday in our lives, especially for people like me that are CRRAZY for music. I am a very visual person, I go to book store every two or three days to read some picture book. And a lot of them are written as poetry, to tell a story cooperating with pretty pictures.
